    • Have we clearly decided the format?

      • Assembly / Forum

      • Teach-in

      • Public action

      • Cultural event… 

    • Does this format match our goal and political context?

    • Is it realistic for our capacity?

    • Can we clearly state the objective in one sentence?

      • Awareness?

      • Influence decision-makers?

      • Coalition-building?

      • Public visibility?

    • Do all organisers agree on the goal?

    • Do we know exactly who we want to present?

      • Civil society groups?

      • Trade unions?

      • Youth?

      • Faith leaders?

      • Local officials?

      • Researchers?...

    • Have we invited beyond our usual circle ?

    • Are key voices missing?

    • Are we organising alone or with partners?

    • Have roles been clearly shared?

    • Are partners aligned on messaging?

    • Do we have at least one co-host or supporting organisation?

    • What are the 2–3 main questions we will discuss?

    • Are we addressing fossil fuel production (not only emissions)?

    • Are we linking global phase-out to local realities?

    • Is the discussion structured (timing, facilitation)?

    • What concrete result do we want at the end?

      • Short statement?

      • Letter to the government ?

      • List of demands ?

      • New allies and prospects ? 

    • Who is responsible for drafting or documenting it?

    • Is the venue (or online platform) confirmed?

    • Are speakers confirmed?

    • Is there a moderator?

    • Do we have basic materials (sign-in sheet, projector, sound, etc.)?

    • Do we have someone taking notes?

    • Do we have a short public description of the event?

    • Have we shared it with our networks?

    • Is someone responsible for photos/videos ?

    • Will we publish or send the outcome afterward?

    • Have we identified clear next steps?

    • Have we scheduled a follow-up moment ?

    • Are we sending our outcome to decision-makers and the global campaign?

These key questions can help guide your action, both in preparation and in the post-event evaluation

Final Test

Before the event, ask:

  • Is the purpose clear and shared?

  • Are the right people in the room?

  • Is there a concrete outcome expected?

  • Do we know what happens next?

If the answer to all four is yes — you’re ready!
